Chapter 1015: Chapter 1016: The Heart is Thrilled Chapter 1015: Chapter 1016: The Heart is Thrilled Meng Yunhan smiled inwardly, she knew that her man would protect her.
That’s the kind of response she wanted to hear.
Her heart was soaring with joy.
Ahao truly understood her.
Yun Hai and Yun father might not grasp the implied meaning behind those words, but Ahao hadn’t said anything wrong, either.
If the second brother found out about this, he’d definitely be unable to bear it. After all, being married for so many years and with two kids who are already grown up, he has always got along well with his younger brother and sister-in-law.
Yun father sighed, “I’m worried about your second brother, he won’t be able to accept the fact that he’s paralyzed.”
Meng Yunhan reassured, “Give the second brother some time. I believe he will come to accept the reality soon. Since it has happened, we have to think about how to handle it for the second brother–falling from such a height. The boss he was working for when the accident occurred, there must be some compensation for the second brother’s misfortune. We must ensure the compensation, considering the second brother’s future and the fact that there are two children to raise?”
Yun Hai was completely at a loss about how to deal with this situation, “This matter will trouble the third brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and you’re right, we must secure the compensation for the sake of our second brother’s future.”
Yun father also added, “And we need to investigate how the second brother ended up falling from a high place.”
Meng Yunhan and Yun Hao nodded, “We will take care of this. I rushed here this time and brought all the money from home. This is five hundred yuan.”
Meng Yunhan was by no means running a bank, but these five hundred yuan could support them for a while.
“The last time the in-laws came, they gave five hundred yuan.”
Meng Yunhan knew who they referred to as ‘the in-laws’–it was father.
“Dad, take it. Ahao and I will handle this matter and try to secure the compensation for the second brother as quickly as possible.”
“Alright, you two go.”
Meng Yunhan and Yun Hao then hurried off to the county town.
Yun Hao sought out former comrades-in-arms to help look into the incident.
Meng Yunhan intended to part ways with Yun Hao as she planned to see her son, but Yun Hao was unwilling to let her go.
“My wife, I’m sorry for making things difficult for you this time.” The matter of Little Huzi was a thorn in her heart, one that she seldom spoke of, yet that didn’t mean the issue had simply gone away.
His wife had acted as if that event had never happened.
Meng Yunhan said with a smile, “Ahao, it doesn’t matter what they say about me, but when they belittle you and Xiaohu as calamities, I really can’t stand it. Seeing the second brother lying in the hospital bed and the sister-in-law not here, my heart is frankly relieved. I don’t mind if you blame me, but this is retribution. When you were lying down and returned from the army that day, they visited you once and never came back. Who would have thought that once, you were brothers? You shared the same birth mother, the same blood courses through your veins, you grew up together. I really feel it’s unfair to you.”
As Meng Yunhan spoke, she broke down into bitter tears; although the event was in the past, it remained an eternal ache in her heart.
Yun Hao tenderly kissed Meng Yunhan’s cheek, holding her in his arms, “My wife, no matter what you do, I will never blame you. You don’t need to suffer for me, it would break my heart, it really would.”
He could feel how helpless his wife had once been. Now they were the ones in trouble, yet they remember they have someone like him.
His wife had truly endured a lot for his sake, facing so much hardship and suffering.
“Ahao, your awakening is a blessing from heaven to me.” Being able to spend her life with him was a gift from the gods, but at the time, she was consumed by self-blame, believing that this situation occurred because of her rebirth. There was a moment when she considered suicide, hoping to restore peace.
