Chapter 729: Chapter 730: My Wife Says East, I Dare Not Go West_1 Chapter 729: Chapter 730: My Wife Says East, I Dare Not Go West_1 Yun Hao knew that his wife’s words were a request for his assistance. “Alright, I’ll do as you say, if you say east, I wouldn’t dare to go west,” he agreed.
Meng Yunhan cast him a glance, “You’re so obedient?”
Yun Hao gave a grin, “Of course.”
The smile on Meng Yunhan’s face was radiant, resembling a crescent moon. Irresistibly, Yun Hao bent down and gave her a peck.
“Let’s turn off the lights and go to bed, we have to catch a train tomorrow, we need to be energetic,” worried that Yun Hao wouldn’t be able to resist showing her affection and thereby, they wouldn’t be awake in time the next day, Meng Yunhan tried to discourage him.
Yun Hao was well aware of what his wife was thinking. He stretched out his hand to pull the switch. There were no wall switches at that time, only pull-string ones were available.
The next day, Little Huzi saw Yun Hao and became excited, “Daddy, daddy…..”
Yun Hao looked at Little Huzi, glad that he hadn’t forgotten him.
“Have you packed all your things?” Little Huzi was already capable of packing up his own small items, toys, food, and drinks.
Thus, Yun Hao asked this question.
With a loud voice, Little Huzi replied, “All packed, we can set off right now.”
Meng Yunhan noticed her son had started to show off.
Both father and son seemed to enjoy this and as a mother, she had no issues with it.
Moreover, due to the winter season, everyone brought a set of clothes. Winter clothes tended to be much heavier than summer ones. Meng Yunhan was carrying a nylon bag that she had sewn herself. Not only was it lightweight, but it was also very convenient and even waterproof.
The family left to catch their train, each carrying a bundle.
Little Huzi had a backpack made by Meng Yunhan. It was packed with food, drink, and piles of toys.
Meng Yunhan initially wanted to help carry the bag, seeing her son carrying such a hefty load. But seeing Yun Hao carrying a bundle in one hand and subtly supporting the son’s backpack with the other, she felt reassured.
“Now, be good on the train, don’t make a fuss, okay?”
At the moment, money could be used to purchase sleeping berths.
Therefore, all the family members had bought berths.
By the time they reached the county city, it was already the 29th day of the lunar year. Upon rushing back to their hometown, it was almost nightfall. As it was winter, the day ended early. Those who went to the co-op to buy things were busy buying, while those preparing the rooms were busy tidying up.
Meng Yunhan prepared mugwort, burning it to freshen the room and eliminate the musty smell.
Without anyone residing in it, the room had become moldy.
When Little Huzi was hungry, he ate the food from his backpack, when he was thirsty, he ate fruit. Sitting alone on a small stool, he played with his toys while munching on snacks and fruit.
They were busy till about nine o’clock before they finally settled down to sleep.
The next day was New Year’s Eve.
“Dad, we might have to go back to our village at noon, do you want to come with us for a visit?”
Meng Yunhan had no idea if her father wanted to join them.
Her father Zhao had no intention of following them back to the village. “I won’t go back, I’ll visit my old friends tomorrow. I haven’t been back in two years.”
“Alright then!”
The next day, Meng Yunhan bought some necessities at the co-op. She bought pork, because in Kyoto, pork could be bought without tickets now. However, she was aware that meat tickets were still required in her hometown, so she took some with her. In one go, she bought five pounds of meat and a five-pound fish.
Little Huzi was being led by Meng Yunhan. He was still carrying his little backpack, while Yun Hao was carrying bags full of goods.
